Q. Will the public be allowed to camp out on the Mall during the Inauguration?
A. It is against the law to camp out (sleeping bags, tents, or other erected structure on National Park Service (NPS) property. That property includes the National Mall and the sidewalks of Pennsylvania Avenue between the Capitol and the White House, as well as the Ellipse, Lafayette Square, Rock Creek Park and the C&O Canal.

NEWS: FAA announces flight restrictions during Presidential Inauguration

WASHINGTON — As a result of the planned 2009 Presidential Inauguration January 20, the FAA at the request of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense as part of the airspace security measures will be modifying the Washington Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) and Washington Metropolitan Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) with additional flight restrictions between the hours of 1000-1800 local.

WASHINGTON — Cadet Airman 1st Class Darin Davis, flight sergeant for National Capital Wing's Andrews Composite Squadron, was recently interviewed in Rated-T Magazine about his role in the Civil Air Patrol. The two-page article on pages 68-69 in the Fall 2008 edition also talks about how CAP personnel are trained to locate distress signals from missing aircraft. MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. — A reception honoring 2008 Wreaths Across America participants will be held Dec. 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The event honors Worcester Wreath Co. owners Karen and Morrill Worcester and Civil Air Patrol members who will lay wreaths at 9 a.m. that day at Arlington.
