INFO: Major Traffic Delays Thursday for Pentagon Memorial Dedication

On Sept. 11, 2008, a new memorial honoring victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon will be dedicated. The ceremony will be held that morning for invited guests only. The memorial will be open to the public beginning at 7 p.m. To commemorate the memorial's public opening, the Navy Band and Sea Chanters Chorus will perform a musical tribute from 7-9 p.m. on the stage adjacent to the memorial. There will be major road and Interstate closures in the area. Metro bus service will be moved to Pentagon City, and the Pentagon Metro Station will offer rail service only.
